Karen Kinter, Chief Executive Officer

Karen Kinter was named CEO of Oak Orchard Health in April 2023 serving as Interim CEO since September 2022. She also held the position of CFO for 12 years from 1999-2012. She lives in Orleans County with her family and understands the challenges our community faces with healthcare.

Her entire career has been devoted to non-profits and serving the underserved patients in our communities. Most recently, Karen worked at Rochester Regional Health in many roles. She served as Vice President of the Specialty Revenue Program and CEO of RRH Federally Qualified Health Centers. She led the business office for the College of Health to focus on a career path for nursing professionals and was awarded numerous grants to help grow and sustain services for the underserved.

Now, Karen is looking forward to collaborating with other community partners to solve the healthcare issues facing us. She believes Oak Orchard is poised to take the lead with its experience caring for people from all walks of life.

She is Treasurer for the Genesee-Orleans Ministry of Concern, a Member of the Women’s Circle of Rochester, and Secretary of the Regional Health Reach program, a homeless healthcare provider.

Karen earned a Master of Business Administration from the SIMON Business School at the University of Rochester and her bachelor’s degree from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY.

In her spare time, Karen spends time with her family and volunteering at her church. She also enjoys empowering other women to help them succeed in their career paths.
