Emily Hein, PNP

Her desire to provide healthcare for children and return to her community lead Emily to Oak Orchard Health (OOH). Meet Emily Hein, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, at the OOH Batavia Health Center.

As a teenager, Emily was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and this experience influenced her decision to pursue a career in healthcare. She was determined to help children feel empowered and not fearful when faced with chronic conditions.

Emily has been a nurse for ten years graduating in 2013 from St. John Fisher College with a BS in Nursing and in 2018 from the University of Colorado Denver with an MS in Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has experience working in intensive care with a diverse population of critically ill patients. She then went on to the Children’s Hospital Colorado Uptown Urgent/Emergency Care. Wanting to work in pediatric primary care lead her back to Oak Orchard Health.

Her approach to care is providing pediatric care that’s tailored to kids’ unique needs. “I believe that you and your child are at the heart of the care team. I strive to listen to your thoughts and concerns so you can make informed decisions about your child’s health and treatment,” said Emily. She finds managing chronic medical and behavioral health conditions truly rewarding and appreciates the complexities of these conditions. She enjoys coming up with creative solutions to fit her patients’ unique needs.

Emily and her husband recently moved back to Western NY where they grew up. They are enjoying introducing her two young boys to the amazing community.
