Kailey Boor, LMSW, Behavioral Health Therapist

Kailey chose to become a social worker because she always found joy in helping others. Her friends often called her “Dr. Phil.” An important point in her career that solidified her desire to be a social worker was when she worked as a Special Education Aide with a little boy with Autism. From that day on, she pursued her Bachelor’s and Master of Social work. She obtained an Interdisciplinary Specialty in Autism (I-SPAN) Advanced Certificate through her graduate program at Nazareth College.

She has been in social work since 2014, though becoming a therapist was not on her radar initially. Thanks to Oak Orchard Health and the Behavioral Health team, she worked her way into this position and now can use the skills she has acquired throughout her career to continue helping those around her.

She feels that it is very important to meet each individual where they are at and recognize that everyone is human and different from the next. There is no “one size fits all” to therapy. She has always made it a point to normalize mental health and work hard to fight the stigma that prevents so many from seeking care.

When Kailey isn’t working, she spends time with her daughter and family. Whenever she has a chance, she also enjoys kayaking and spending time outside in the sunshine.
