When Briar received her own mental healthcare, it was transformational in her life and she is happier and more fulfilled. It allowed her to have better relationships.

She enjoys working with people and developing relationships with them, so therapy seemed like a natural choice. She also believe the trans and gender diverse community needs more representation and advocates in the medical field, and as a trans woman she can provide that.

Briar chose to work at a community health center like Oak Orchard Health because she believes everyone should have access to affordable, high quality, and affirming healthcare. Community health centers make healthcare more accessible for people, and that is something she wants to support.

When she isn’t working she paints miniatures, reads, and spends time with friends.
